The sweet and savory moments we encounter in life are key focal points of S. Deborah Desser’s writings. Her first children’s book, Mumbo Jumbo Poetry and Haiku (penned under Deborah Desser-Herchan), reflects the multi-faceted emotions of growing up – the fun, the serious, and just about everything in between. However, her soon-to-be-released book (November 2022), The Last Leaf, is a departure, a gentle look at loss, sadness, and questioning mortality. Both books are beautifully illustrated, capturing the essence of two different genres.
